Y’s Kids Care is Child, Youth and Family approved and supported by the Ministry of Social Development. It is held on the school premises, in an environment that is a safe and familiar for the children.
This service is designed to provide safe, responsible, fun and reliable care and activities such as crafts, sports, games, story time, board games, kite flying, homework support, cooking classes, activities at the YMCA, show and tell, and much more. All this with fully trained fantastic staff!

Primary School Care
Y’s Kids Care is Oranga Tamariki approved and supported by the Ministry of Social Development. It is held on the school premises or at the YMCA, in an environment that is a safe and familiar for the children.
This service is designed to provide safe, responsible, fun and reliable care and activities such as arts & crafts, sports, games, story time, board games, homework support, cooking, show and tell and much more. All this with fully trained fantastic staff!
Before School Care is offered (on each normal school day) at:
- YMCA for Welbourn, Woodleigh, Vogeltown, Frankley and Central primary school as well as Devon Intermediate 7:30-8:30am. Children are dropped to school in YMCA vehicles by 8:55am
After School Care is offered (on each normal school day) at:
- Welbourn, Woodleigh, Mangorei and Vogeltown Schools
- 3.00pm to 5.30pm
Central/Intermediate After School care is offered (on each normal school day) at:
- the YMCA (83 Liardet St) and includes pick up from school. Pickup available from Highlands and Devon Intermediate, Central, Merrilands, Westown, West End, Vogeltown, Frankley, Spotswood, Omata and St Pius X Schools
- 3:00- 5:30pm

Please note that the subsidy is based on your income and the amount of hours you work. For example, you may not get subsidy for full time care if you work for 10 hours per week.
